JEB BUSH Wishes to “Figure
out A Way to Phase out “Medicare
The phase-out brigade is back – Earlier, George
W Bush who wanted to phase-out Social security in USA. Now, it is Jeb Bush
wants to phase-out Medicare.
The erstwhile Florida governor opined recently
on the future of Medicare, a program he said, “We need to figure out
a way to phase out the Medicare program”
While speaking at American for Prosperity event
in New Hampshire , where he displayed a TV AD in which a “Paul Ryan – look – a-
like “ was ejecting an old man off the cliff in a wheelchair. The TV ad’s main
objective is to knock Ryan’s Medicare – associated budget proposals.
Jeb Bush informed that we need to be vigilant
and persuade the people to understand this. They aware and I think a lot of
people recognize that we need to make sure that we fulfill the commitment to the
people that have already received the benefits that are receiving the
benefits. But, that we need to figure
out a way to phase-out the Medicare for others and move to a new system that
allows them to have something – because they are not going to have anything.
It is to be noted that Medicare is the Federal
health insurance program for those over the age of 65. It also covers those
below the age of 65 who have permanent disabilities.
If Medicare is phased out as suggested by Mr. Jeb Bush, about 49,435,610 beneficiaries of
Medicare will be in trouble in USA. (2012 figure - http://kff.org/medicare/state-indicator/total-medicare-beneficiaries/)
Mrs Hillary Clinton is the ardent supporter of Medicare. As per New York Time, Feb 13, 2001 , Mrs Hillary Clinton voted “Yes” on
overriding veto on expansion of Medicare by George W Bush.President Bush vetoed a bill that would make vital improvements to the Medicare
program that has helped ensure that millions of seniors and the disabled
can get the care they need.(George W Bush recommended a " No" on the Bill.)
The following should be taken into account to
know Mrs. Hillary Clinton views on health care.
- · Ms. Clinton supports the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
- · Ms. Clinton has also said she is open to fixing the PPACA
- · Ms. Clinton has long been a proponent of universal healthcare
- · As a Democratic hopeful in the 2008 presidential race, Ms. Clinton also ran on a new and improved universal health plan, called the American Health Choices Plan
- · Ms. Clinton is a long-time supporter of children's health initiatives.
- · She also has been a proponent of women's reproductive rights
- · While serving in the Senate, she advocated for healthcare for workers at Ground Zero and military reservists
- · She has supported requiring an EHR for federal healthcare programs, including Medicare, Medicaid and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- · She is pro-vaccines.
No doubt , Ms Clinton will be taking more steps to expand the health care facilities to
ordinary Americans including Medicare , Medicaid and Affordable care to all
Americans if she is elected as 45th
President of USA.
