Hillary Clinton had an amazing night — and not just because of her victories

Tuesday night was an amazing night for Hillary Clinton, and not just because her wins in Florida and Ohio made Bernie Sanders's path to the nomination nearly impossible.

Tuesday night was an amazing night for Hillary Clinton because Marco Rubio dropped out of the race and virtually ensured she will face either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz in the general election.

Hillary Clinton won Illinois's Democratic primary on Tuesday night, delivering a setback to Bernie Sanders's push to upend the race.

The win caps a great night for Clinton in which she also won Ohio, North Carolina, and Florida — bolstering her delegate total just when Sanders needed to start reducing it. (Missouri still wasn't called at press time.)

Clinton's win may shore up faith that her polling leads in other states are meaningful. (Real Clear Politics' average of the Illinois polls had Clinton up by 3 points.) And that should be reassuring for a Clinton campaign that would otherwise be looking at a much more unpredictable primary fight than anyone had expected.

'It is a tough game to win, and it's part of why this is the first time an American woman has ever gotten this close to winning a major party's nomination.

In the days after Donald J. Trump vanquished his Republican rivals in South Carolina and Nevada, prominent Democrats supporting Hillary Clinton are seriously considering the plan how to defeat Mr. Donald Trump?

Several Democrats argued that Mrs. Clinton, should she be her party’s nominee, would easily beat Mr. Trump. They were confident that his incendiary remarks about immigrants, women and Muslims would make Trump unacceptable to many Americans. They had faith that the growing electoral power of black, Hispanic and female voters would deliver a Clinton landslide if he were the Republican nominee.

Hillary team would portray Mr. Trump as a misogynist and an enemy to the working class whose brash temper would put the nation and the world in grave danger.

 

President Obama has told allies he would gleefully portray Mr. Trump as incapable of handling the duties of the Oval Office.

Mr. Trump as a wily, determined and indefatigable opponent who seems to be speaking to broad economic anxieties among Americans and to the widely held belief that traditional politicians are incapable of addressing those problems.

‘Against Bigotry’

The greatest weapon against Mr. Trump, the Clintons believe, is his tendency to make outrageous, even hateful comments that can come across as unpresidential. During the most recent Republican debate on Thursday, Mr. Trump traded schoolyard taunts with his rivals and threatened to build an even bigger wall on the Mexican border because he did not like a rebuke of his original wall proposal by a former president of Mexico.

 

Strategy for Overcoming Trump

The plan has three major thrusts: Portray Mr. Trump as a heartless businessman who has worked against the interests of the working-class voters he now appeals to; broadcast the degrading comments he has made against women in order to sway suburban women, who have been reluctant to support Mrs. Clinton; and highlight his brash, explosive temper to show he is unsuited to be commander in chief.

Democrat Hillary Clinton has taken early leads in her respective contests for the US presidential nomination.

On the Democratic side, Mrs. Clinton had already secured three wins in the first four early-voting states and has led significantly among blocs of black voters there.

Hillary won 883 delegates and needs 1500 delegates more

Sanders won just 232 delegates and needs 2151 delegates more

As a Mother , I’m beyond disappointed

As a Mother , I’m beyond disappointed

Seeing the number of Americans who supported Donald Trump last night is shocking.

I’m a mother.

I don’t want our daughters growing up in an America that embraces Donald Trump’s sexism.

I don’t want our daughters to have a President who calls women “ugly” and repeatedly attacks female journalists and leaders.

As our daughters grow into young women, I can’t imagine explaining why their President treats women differently than men.

We cannot expect girls to grow up believing in themselves with someone like Trump as the President of our country. That’s why we all need to join together today and denounce him. Will you add your name to our petition and denounce his sexism?

Now more than ever, Democrats must take a strong stance against sexism.

We must rebuke candidates who talk down to, dismiss, and mock women simply because they can.

We should be building a nation where both genders feel empowered and heard. Where women and girls are respected and recognized as capable and equals. That is the progressive America we deserve.

If Americans join together right now to denounce Donald Trump, I know that we will defeat him. But it’s going to take all of us working together.

Hillary Clinton: Syrian Refugee Crisis Is a 'Global Crisis'

 

 

When asked by MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, previous Secretary of State Hillary Clinton informed that the USA should help to resolve the Syrian refugee crisis, but carefully added that a greater global reaction was required to resolve the issue.

Mitchell further asked Clinton, whether the U.S. should raise its proportion for Syrian refugees.

Clinton replied that "We should bear our share, as should the Europeans too; but this is a wider, global emergency,"  "We now have more refugees than we've had in many years -- I think, since the Second World War."

The Syrian crisis has displaced more than 4.1 million Syrians, and the U.S. has announced that it will accept 8,000 refugees in 2016.

Calling the crisis "heart-breaking," Clinton said that the issue was one that "the entire world now sees doesn't just affect the Syrian people; it upsets all of us. That's what I've been saying for years."

Clinton also said she supported doing more to arm moderate Syrian rebels early on in their fight against Syrian President Bashar Assad, a position that President Barack Obama disagreed with. Asked whether Obama's foreign policy caused the crisis, Clinton said that "the world's policies" were responsible.
