Mrs. Hillary Clinton Calls for “Common Sense”
Gun Reforms in USA
In the aftermath of tragic gun shooting at a
historical black church in Charleston, South Carolina, Mrs. Hillary Clinton insisted
Americans to involve in a wider debate about race so as to establish a more
inclusive American society. She also promised
to wage a war for “common sense” reforms to the country’s gun laws.
While addressing the 83rd annual
general meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in San Francisco, Mrs. Hillary
pledged to carry out what Mr Obama was unable to do as of now - to enact a new
legislation to curb the gun violence.
She advocated that America should have common
sense gun law reforms that preclude the guns out of the hands of hard-core
criminals and unstable and violent individuals while at the same time honoring
the responsibilities of genuine gun owners.
She uttered that there has been unnecessary
loss of lives due to misuse of guns in America in the recent past and yelled
that she would not hesitate to fight for common sense gun law reforms mainly to
safeguard the loss of innocent lives in the near future.
RACIAL INTEGRATION
She urged for racial integration and also
echoed for the establishment of more sympathetic and easy-going society. She reiterated
that racism has no place in USA as Americans have elected their first-ever
black president thereby turning a new chapter in the American history. Despite of these accomplishments, racism still
spearheads his head in America and stays as a deep fault line in America.
Despite of legal and social protections available in USA , millions of people of
color still witness racism in their day-to-day life in America as of date.
Mrs Hillary Clinton cited various statistics on
the vast dissimilarities between black and while families in the U.S such as
- ·
Variance in sentencing guidelines
- ·
Refusal of mortgage facilities to
African-Americans
- ·
Nearly 50% of the black families are living in
the poor neighborhoods even today since from the last two generations
- ·
Black children are likely to witness death 500
times more due to asthma as compared to their counterpart white children.
She urged the affluent, rich Americans to fight
against bias in their own neighborhood. She cited how the woman credited with
assisting officials to arrest the culprit which stood as an illustration of how
all Americans must carry out their duty in assisting to build a more inclusive
American society.
