Why I Have Switched from Bernie to Hillary - JHANNON

 

 

I'm tired of idealistic campaign rhetoric. When Trump talks about we're just gonna win, win, win, big wall, smack China, we know it's all bluster. Bernie talks about single payer and free college tuition for all but that is no more realistic with this Congress than a magic wall. I don't even WANT free college tuition for affluent young people. In some countries they can do it because relatively few go to universities--not so here. It's completely unbelievable.

And then I watched the debates. I have a lot of reservations about Hillary Clinton. There are things she has done and votes, e.g., Iraq, she has cast that I can't accept. But I watched the debates. She is intelligent, composed, and knowledgeable across the board. We can argue about labels but Clinton is a liberal with a liberal voting record. Is she too hawkish? I think so. I think she is too pro-Israel. But I don't think she's reckless. She had positions and rhetoric on criminal justice twenty years ago that I didn’t like but I think she has learned and grown as progressive people do.

And unlike Obama, whom I respect greatly, she would not make the mistake of thinking her personal charisma will create a kumbaya wave in Washington. She knows the Republicans well enough to call them "my enemy." She will go after them rather than try to convert them.

Finally, I am sick of the Hillary-bashing. I can't think of another politician in my conscious lifetime who has caught more shit than she, from people making the White House travel office a cause celebre to accusing her of killing her friend, Vince Foster, to Whitewater, to being (gasp!) a lesbian, or shrew, or thick-legged (gasp, again) to Benghazi, to ...fill in the blank. And it is misogynistic. I know people who consider her laughably dishonest and I ask them, what exactly, has she lied about? Oh, they say, everyone knows--because they have been exposed to relentless bashing of her that has not been refuted strongly enough by people on the left.

I am a socialist feminist. I believe there is no true socialism without feminism and no true feminism without socialism. I have worked in various ways to further both causes. As a citizen of the country I have a more particular responsibility to vote for the person I think is best qualified at this particular moment for what can well be considered the most important position in the world. I have decided that is Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton commented the recent USA’s Supreme Court’s decision that Affordable Care Act introduced by the President Obama is the law of the land and she commented that U.S. Supreme Court now sided with common sense. According to Mrs. Hillary Clinton, the U.S Supreme Court’s verdict is really a victory for each and every American, particularly, the millions whose lifestyles have been enhanced by health care reform and innumerable individuals who waged a fierce war to enact and to protect this law. She added further that U.S Supreme Court’s verdict is really a real aide-mémoire that while reforms would never be accomplished easily , but , if one keep hard working , keep pushing and never , ever give up , anything can be accomplishable. 

Mrs. Hillary Clinton chided how Republicans who are running for American president position made attempts to drive away the fundamental health security from millions of Americans, though, there had been two clear verdicts from the Supreme Court of U.S.A on the subject. 

Mrs. Hillary Clinton also chided the Republican’s attempt to lockstep with the allies in Congress who have exercised their votes in more than 50 occasions to dismantle or repeal the Affordable Care Act without suggesting or proposing a single viable alternative. 

Mrs. Hillary Clinton also appealed to the American voters to decide whether they want their next president who will protect and expand the health care for each and every American or a president who will undo the achievements we have made in health care reforms hitherto. 

Obama’s Affordable Health Care Act

Though, Mrs. Hillary Clinton commented that the Obama’s Affordable Health Care Act is impeccable but at the outset she is embracing the law at her recent presidential campaign. 

Hillary Clinton, the Democratic front-runner for the U.S.A President 2016 explained her own efforts on health care and urged the Republicans should desist trying to revoke the law.  

King v.Burwell 

It is to be noted on 25^th June, 2015, the Supreme Court of U.S.A in King v.Burwell ,   overturned the arguments foot forth by plaintiffs and upheld the subsidies in every state in respective of the face whether its medical –aid exchange was state or federally run. 

Mrs. Hillary Clinton welcomed the decision of Supreme Court and urged that health insurance should be affordable and available in each and every state across the nation. 

Mrs. Hillary Clinton appreciated some unique features of the Obama’s Health Care Act like the health insurance companies no longer being able to discriminate against individual with pre-existing conditions.

No doubt , this clearly demonstrates that Mrs. Hillary Clinton is preparing to be placed on the defence as regards to Obamacare during her presidential campaign in the coming days.

Mrs Hillary Clinton recalled how bad babyhood days her mother encountered in her early childhood days. In 1927, Hillary’s mother Dorothy Howell parents were divorced, neither of the Hillary’s mothers’ parents were willing to look after Dorothy or her sister.  Dorothy Howell and her sister were compelled to move to California to live with their grandparents. At the hands of their grandparents, Dorothy and her sister faced many hardships as they were asked to dress in a primitive way and were not allowed to play in the open yard.

Dorothy was not permitted by her grandparents to wander outside and was asked to remain in her room after she went trick-or-treating one Halloween.

Estranged due to attitudes of their grandparents, Dorothy, at the age of fourteen left her grandparents and got employed as house keeper at Chicago with an intention to reunite with her mother. However, her mother was not receptive to the reunion when she attempted after some years.

For Hillary Rodham Clinton, it was really a painful story when she came to know how her mother underwent untold pains during her childhood.  Hillary’s mother Dorothy died four years back and let us wish that her mother’s moral support and blessings will be really there to back her claim to USA’s president position. 

In her 2008 election speeches, Clinton uttered that she imbibed perseverance, stubbornness, and leadership qualities from her mother Dorothy.

Mrs. Hillary Clinton, in her 2016 Presidential election speeches, will elucidate how her mother’s experience molded her life and stimulated her to be an advocate for children and families at the Children’s Defense Fund, and as a first lady, secretary of state and senator.

When Hillary Clinton was employed as full-time lawyer at Rose Law Firm, Arkansas, Dorothy Rodham and her husband, Hugh came to Little Rock to take care of Chelsea. When Mr. Rodham expired in 1993, Dorothy used to live along with Hillary at the White House. Dorothy also accompanied Hillary when she visited Paris, India, Hawaii and China.

In the background of Monica Lewinsky scandal, Dorothy encouraged Hillary to makeup her own political career. Dorothy moved to Washington when Mrs Hillary was elected to the Senate in 2000 from New York.Mrs. Hillary Clinton intends to spare time detailing about her mother in a chains of campaign meetings in early nominating states during coming week. Mrs Clinton as 2016 presidential candidate desires to spotlight not only her mother’s upbringing, but also raise her voice for downtrodden people, like educators and teachers, who were so passionate to Dorothy during her childhood as a way to spool to Mrs. Clinton’s viewpoint that communities and government must to do their part to  raise the standard of living of the middle class.

In the “Hard Choice” book written by Mrs Hillary Clinton and released in the year 2014 explained how one teacher of her mother at her elementary school offered her one carton of milk on daily basis when she came to know about her inability to buy the same. Mrs Hillary also recalled how a teenage housekeeper for whom Dorothy served helped her to pursue high school studies.  Mrs Hillary recalled how goodness was present in the world and this had shaped Dorothy later as caring mother and grandmother. 

Now, at the age of 67, Hillary Clinton has taken appropriate steps to run a methodological and sensational presidential 2016 campaign in the coming days.The poor childhood background of Mrs Hillary would help her to redress the sufferings of middle class peoples.  The recent poll convened by CNN on June 2, 2015 exposed that 43% of voters were of the view that Mrs Hillary will care for aged people and ordinary citizens.

At the age of 92 , Mrs. Rodham died in 2011 and Mrs Hillary Clinton told that one of her mothers’ unfulfilled wish was that she was never had the chance to go to college.
